RubyConf AU 2019 Opportunity Program
RubyConf AU wants our industry to better represent the diversity of our broader society, and for as many people as possible to have equal opportunities to attend industry events and to network and socialise with their peers. As part of this goal, we are running an Opportunity Program which provides successful applicants with a ticket to the conference along with a travel allowance when required. This is possible through the generosity of Ruby Australia, our sponsors, and other attendees.

The Opportunity Program is for people from under-represented and/or disadvantaged sections of our society, including (but certainly not limited to) women, people of colour, LGBTQIA+ people, disabled people, and people facing economic or social hardships. If you think you might qualify (even if you're not sure) then we strongly encourage you to apply.

Applications will be reviewed on a monthly basis from September, and available tickets granted to those who best meet the criteria. Applications will close when all opportunity program tickets have been allocated, when 80% of conference tickets have been sold, or on December 31st 2018, whichever occurs soonest.
