Emergency & Disaster Management Course Registration
In an effort to increase access to capacity building, the Singapore Red Cross is equipping and preparing humanitarians with knowledge, skills and practical experience to provide effective and impactful humanitarian assistance during times of emergencies.

Each intensive course lasts 3 days, and learners will have access to an online course, 2-days of workshops and 1-day of simulation. Learners will also have the opportunity to network with humanitarian experts.

Course (1): Emergency Preparedness and Response
Educate learners on the nature of disasters, hazards and crisis. Participants will learn best methods to prepare and respond to emergency situations.

Course (2): Needs Assessment in Emergency Situations
Learn how to prepare and apply different assessment techniques during emergencies. Post-training, learners will be capable of creating effective assessment tools, collating accurate data and drafting comprehensive assessment reports.

Course (3): Planning and Programming in Emergency Situations
Helps learners plan, design and implement emergency programmes. Instructors will share key programming strategies, so learners can incorporate sustainable, diverse and community-led approaches, draft programme plans, and integrate monitoring and evaluation efforts into their humanitarian programmes.

Advice for Participants:
1. Must be physically fit as the short courses will include moderately strenuous activities.
2. Learners with medical problems, such as bronchial asthma, any upper respiratory tract infection, orthopedic problems (e.g. slipped disc), are encouraged to consult their own doctors before attending the course and to produce a Letter/Memo to indicate if fit for participation.
