Interested in connecting with other students interested in using tech for social change? Do you have basic coding skill?
Athena Digital Design is a community of practice at the Athena Center.
(If that term is a little jargony for you, communities of practice are groups of people who get together on a regular basis to get better at something. The Center has 3 others - for entrepreneurs, students interested in policy, and students interested in advocacy - as well as the Athena Fellows Program, in which students use any/all of those methods). Visit
athenacenter.barnard.edu/communities-practice for more info.)
Athena Digital Design meets 1x per week at the Athena Center on the 4th Floor of Milstein.
In our meetings, we chat about everything from different fields in the tech industry with Barnard alums to how we can best work with project partners - and we apply our coding skills to projects we want to work on outside our regular coursework (like building a website for a local business or your own coding project).
If you don't know how to code or would like a refresher, visit our site to sign up for an immersive, 6-week course that will open soon for Fall '22. The CSC also offers office hours with a Computing Fellow.
