is responsible for ideating, planning, and executing a variety of events that align with the organization's mission. We'll innovate event ideas, foster collaborations with partners and sponsors, and organize localized events tailored to different areas, including friendly socials like Ramadan iftars. #roomforactivities #designanddo
Outreach Committee/
is responsible for expanding our network and securing resources to support the mission of ASMA. We'll connect with academic institutions, individual benefactors, organizations, corporate partners, and architectural firms. In addition, we'll develop creative fundraising strategies, cultivate relationships with donors, create outreach materials, and coordinate efforts with other committees. Your skills in networking, organization, and communication will be crucial here. #aggressivenetworking
Conference Committee/
is in charge of planning and executing a standalone, first-of-its-kind ASMA conference in 2025. The planning process will include venue and catering logistics, speakers and judges coordination, topic generation, outreach for funding and marketing the event, collecting and reviewing research/ project submissions for display, and keeping track of all costs before and after the event. #intenselycollaborative
Engagement Committee/
is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive engagement strategies to enhance ASMA's presence. This includes increasing engagement across various social media platforms, such as coordinating monthly highlights and features, promoting upcoming events, and refining branding elements like fonts and layouts to maintain a consistent and professional image. Establishing consistent brand aesthetic is a key focus. #focusonthefun
Research Committee/
is responsible for producing and maintaining ASMA's research sector, with a goal of furthering knowledge on Islam, Architecture, and topics that emerge from the intersection of both. We'll identify new research projects / opportunities and carry them out, ensuring that all research produced is original, authoritative, academically rigorous, and is relevant in furthering ASMA's mission / vision. This committee shall also attend conferences and other academic events to bring ASMA research into broader architectural discourse. #intellectuallyexhilarating
Career Development Committee/ (NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICANTS)
develops the annual ASMA Mentorship Program and implements strategies to attract and retain both mentors and mentees. The committee is responsible for informing members and other audiences about the program, developing its components, generating a calendar of events specific to the program, matching mentorship pairings, and monitoring the progress of individual pairings and the program as a whole throughout the academic year. N.B., this is for administering the program, not being part of it. Sign ups for that will come after the mentorship program is setup (by this committee). #gunnersandgivers #blueprintsforsuccess
