Please connect the device you want to Cast from (the device running Chrome) and your Chromecast device to the same network. This is required for Cast to work.

Each Operating system (e.g. Microsoft Windows, and Mac OSX) have different ways of connecting to a network. Refer to your computers help content to connect to the network you want to use.

Chromecast device instructions:

On the Chromecast home screen (not applicable to Cast for audio devices), the network is listed under the device name in the lower left of the screen. Verify it is on the same network as the device you want to Cast from (the device running Chrome). If it is not, there are a couple ways you can change the network your Chromecast is connected to.

Using Chrome:

1. Connect the device running Chrome to the same network as your Chromecast device.
2. Click the Chrome Settings menu More menu icon and then "Cast..".
3. Right click on the Cast button > Manage Cast devices
4. Find the Chromecast device you want to change the network for > Settings gear.
5. In the box titled "WI-FI NETWORK", click the "FORGET" button. Click proceed in the dialog to confirm that the Chromecast will disconnect from the currently configured Wi-Fi network.
6. The device will then be listed under a the heading "Devices that need setup". Click the device to start the setup flow.
7. Follow the setup flow prompts. It will ask you to confirm Wi-Fi settings, where you can change the network the Chromecast connects to.

Using an iOS (e.g. iPhone, iPad) or Android (e.g. Nexus) device:

1. Open the Google Home app which you can get by visiting this page: http://www.google.com/chromecast/setup/
2. Follow the app's instructions for configuring the device. (Select the device from the devices menu in the app.)
