KPY VOLUNTEER SOLICITATION
The Kings Park Youth Athletic Association (“KPY”) is a non-profit community sports organization founded in 1960 by a group of KP parents for the purpose of providing baseball, softball, basketball, football and cheerleading opportunities to the kids of the community.
Since 1960, the organizational structure has not changed. KPY sports have been planned, organized, coached and administered by parents of the community. What has changed over the years is the dwindling number of parents interested in volunteering their time to fill these roles.
The common theme amongst the past and present board members, commissioners, coordinators and coaches has been their sense of community pride and ownership of an organization their children participate in. In order for KPY to thrive, improve and continue the sports programs offered to the community, new volunteers are continuously needed to take on the roles of those parents whose children have finished their KPY careers.
