It's that time of year again! Thanks for registering for the Virginia Tech String Project (VTSP)! This program is open to students in the 3rd grade and older, as well as adult learners! Note that if your 2nd grade child attended our summer music exploration camp, they may register for the beginner class this year instead of waiting until 3rd grade. We offer instruction for violin, viola, cello, bass, and guitar (see our webpage for the guitar registration link). Classes begin the second week of September. Please see below for more details:
Virginia Tech location class schedule:
Bowed strings (violin, viola, cello, bass):
Beginner Class- for beginning 1st year students with no prior experience- Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:00-6:55pm, $85 per semester
Adult String Sinfonia- for students beginning their 3rd year of study or those with equivalent past experience , 18+, Wednesdays 12:05-1pm, $85 per semester
Mid-Day Adult Beginner Class- for beginning 1st year students with no prior experience- 18+, Mondays 12:05-1pm, $85 per semester
String Ensemble- for students beginning their 2nd or 3rd year of study- Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:00-5:55pm, $85 per semester
*Youth Orchestra- by audition only for students beginning 4 or more years of study- Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:00-5:55pm, $85 per semester
*Concert Orchestra- by audition only for students beginning 5 or more years of study- Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:00-6:55pm, $85 per semester
Chamber Music Group- by audition only for students beginning 4 or more years of study and who take private lessons, includes a weekly rehearsal and coaching with a teacher, placement depends on enrollment- Sundays, time TBA, $85 per semester
Warm Hearth class schedule:
Evening Adult Beginner Class- for beginning 1st year students with no prior experience- 18+, Mondays 6:30-7:25, $85 per semester
30 min. private lessons (students must be enrolled in group classes):
Private lessons are taught by string project student teachers who participate in ongoing string pedagogy training through VTSP.
Tech location - Sundays between 10am-6pm, $270 per semester
