Ayurveda is a science of life (Ayur = life, Veda = science or knowledge) – a system for healthy living developed thousands of years ago in India. While this science is ancient, the practices and concepts are still in use today around the world. Ayurveda empowers the individual to make daily choices that can impact longevity, vitality and mental well-being.
In this workshop series, we’ll explore the science of Ayurveda and its connection to the practice of Yoga.

You’ll learn:
1) The basic concepts of Ayurveda and how this science relates to overall health and well-being.
2) Learn the qualities of the three Doshas (mind/body types). Find out your type and explore the yoga practices, foods and habits that can bring health and balance to your life.
3) We’ll begin the study of the ‘five tastes’ of Ayurveda and have a ‘pot luck’ luncheon on our last workshop day.
4) We will be practicing gentle Yoga, meditation and pranayama (breath exercises)--please check with your doctor to be sure these practices are appropriate for you.
