Call to Action

Add your name and stand with us in demanding accountability from the Michigan Democratic Party (MDP). We cannot allow anti-Muslim, anti-Arab, and anti-Palestinian hate to be normalized or amplified within our party.

Sign on, share widely, and contact MDP leadership to demand a public condemnation and apology.

Together we can ensure our party reflects the values of justice, dignity, and unity for all. Text of the letter is below:

Dear Michigan Democratic Party Leadership and Chair,

We, the undersigned, write to express our deep concern and outrage over the recent opinion piece published in Jewish News Syndicate, amplified and shared by the Michigan Democratic Party (MDP) Jewish Caucus.

This opinion piece is a dangerous and deeply irresponsible piece that trades in inflammatory rhetoric, baseless accusations, and harmful stereotypes instead of facts. It advances clear Islamophobic, anti-Arab, and anti-Palestinian narratives—casting Muslim and Arab political engagement as inherently suspicious or extremist—and deliberately misrepresents legitimate grassroots civic participation as a coordinated “takeover.” This framing is not only false, it is reckless and designed to stoke fear and division.

It is unacceptable that an official caucus of the MDP would amplify such propaganda. Sharing this content lends credibility to rhetoric that fuels anti-Muslim, anti-Arab, and anti-Palestinian hate, undermines safety and trust within our party, and misrepresents the diverse communities that make up Michigan’s Democratic coalition.

We therefore demand the following:

A clear and public condemnation of this article and its harmful rhetoric from the MDP and its Chair
A formal public apology for amplifying this content
A commitment from party leadership and caucuses to reject and actively challenge anti-Muslim, anti-Arab and anti-Palestinian hate, racism, and misinformation

At a time when our communities are facing increased hate and division, our party must be unequivocal in standing for truth, inclusion, and solidarity. Silence or inaction in the face of this rhetoric is complicity.

We expect better from our party and its leadership.
