Title: DeciphAR augmented reality app to pronounce the Blackfoot signage

Description: DeciphAR ( is a augmented reality app to help visitors to MRU pronounce the Blackfoot signage in the Riddell Library and Learning Centre. Visitors take a picture of the sign and can listen to an audio recording in Blackfoot. Jessie and Anna will discuss the process of developing DeciphAR and how the app is evolving to be used in tribal colleges.

Anna Nuhn, M.Sc. is the Emerging Technologies Specialist at Mount Royal University Library (MRU). She oversees the Library's Experience Lab, Ideas Lounge, Visualization Classroom, and Immersion Studio and supports the MRU community with integrating their teaching, learning and research with these novel technologies. Anna has acted as the project manager for DeciphAR supporting the various collaborators and team members throughout the development process.

Jessie Loyer is the Indigenous Studies librarian at Mount Royal University Library. She is Cree-Métis and a member of Michel First Nation. She directed the community collaboration of DeciphAR, working with partners at Red Crow Community College.
