Professional Development 2020
Welcome! This year professional development is being provided by Human Resources from August-May to allow employees and supervisors more flexibility in accessing training opportunities. Our topics were determined based on participant feedback from the previous year, and supervisor recommendations to assist employees in their development and careers at FVCC. We have some great presenters this year, and we hope you enjoy the offerings!

Classified and Professional employees are encouraged to participate in a minimum of four professional development courses per year in order to experience growth, share experiences with employees across campus, and receive valuable training. Of course, employees may attend more with supervisory approval and as space permits.

Some courses will have limited class sizes if they are held in labs. If a session experiences high demand, it will be evaluated for offering an additional course. Classes will be closed as they are filled. The courses are designed to accommodate our employee numbers, and signing up early ensures that you are enrolled in the training of your choice. Waiting to enroll will limit the availability of training options.

Employees must consult with their supervisors before registering in order to collaborate on department scheduling and to evaluate together value-added training opportunities for growth. If you change your mind or are unable to attend a session after registering, please contact Hayley Beattie, HR Partner, at hbeattie@fvcc.edu as soon as possible so your seat may be opened for someone else.
