Conditions for Transport *
The applicant is responsible for ensuring the following conditions are met. This permit is deemed invalid if any of the conditions are not met. The term “vehicle” in the following conditions refers to the equipment listed on this permit.
  1. The permit applicant must ensure all conditions of the permit are being met.
  2. The operator must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license with no restrictions.
  3. The operator must wear the required Personal Protective Equipment as specified in the Provincial Workplace Health Regulations. Examples include steel-toe boots, safety vests, and available seat belts.
  4. Operation of the vehicle must be restricted to daylight hours (i.e., hours posted between dawn and dusk on the Environment Canada website).
  5. At the time of permit application, the applicant must submit a proposed route. The route must not use a P1 street, may use a P2 street as minimally as possible, and can use a P3 street. Public Works will review the proposed route and approve based on these conditions. The operator may only use the approved route and may not deviate from it.
  6. The vehicle must be equipped with 4-way flasher warning lights that must be used when on the right-of-way, as specified in the Manitoba Highway Traffic Act.
  7. If the 4-way flasher warning lights are not located at the widest measurements of the vehicle, permanently mounted reflective markings should be installed on the vehicle’s widest measurements.
  8. Unless the vehicle is equipped with turn signals on the front and back, the operator must use hand signals for turning movements.
  9. The vehicle must be equipped with a "Slow Moving Vehicle" sign on the back.
  10. No passengers are permitted on the vehicle.
