Parent University - Book Talks: 13 Things Mentally Strong Parents Don't Do

You’re invited to book discussions of “13 Things Mentally Strong Parents Don’t Do,” by licensed psychotherapist Amy Morin. The book offers parents, teachers, and other mentors tools to support the mental health and resiliency of children in their lives. Join other parents in the District 303 community to discuss the lessons in the book and learn from others’ experiences. To secure a free copy of the book, you’ll need to register below.

When children have the skills they need to deal with challenges in their everyday lives, they can flourish socially, emotionally, behaviorally, and academically. With appropriate support, encouragement, and guidance from adults, kids grow stronger and become better.

Parent University will cover a few chapters at a time over the following dates:

  • October 19: Chapters 1 - 4
  • October 26: Chapters 5 - 8
  • November 2: Chapters 9 - 13
Participants can choose to attend either a morning session (9 - 10:15 AM) or an evening session (6 - 7:15 PM) for each date. All discussions will take place in the Haines Center, Community Room 140.

Due to the personal nature of book discussions, these sessions will not be recorded.
