WORKSHOP: Finding the Words: A Practice Of Narrative Medicine
A participant-centered writing workshop for people living with illness and/or trauma and people who care for them. In keeping with the Nomadic Press vision, this workshop will center historically marginalized voices and experiences.

The workshop takes a harm reduction and community-building approach to healing. The content will be generated by the needs and vision of participants.

We will explore the idea(s) of narrative medicine—healing through story—including considering the notion of narrative in various genres and specifically how narrative might inform the practice of healing. Each session will include
participants’ expression of needs/desires for this session:

writing prompts, writing
sharing writing
discussion of applying narrative theory (in various genres) to individual and community healing
sharing resources (Norma has developed some bibliographies and other lists of resources to jump-start your own resource searches)
