Young Entrepreneurs Pocket Money Market Youth Day 16 June 2017
Welcome! This market is for children up to 16 years old. Very young children are welcome too, with parental assistance. Older kids are welcome to join but are expected to help out with the market too, up to an hour after trading and possibly with admin between markets.

This form is only for YOUTH DAY FRIDAY 16 JUNE 2017 at the V&A Waterfront.
This is our flagship event for the year and spaces are limited. Preference will be given to regular traders and those who have attended workshops if we are oversubscribed. Trader list will be confirmed by Tues 16 May via email.
Final details, trading times and set up are still to be confirmed. We will most likely trade from 11:30 to 1:30 with a prize giving at 2.
At this event we also have some spaces for buskers and performance arts, please use the same form.

For all the details and stall ideas please visit
First timers please see the page and you are welcome to call for advice.
For other events in the Cape please book here: and for Gauteng and Kwa-Zulu Natal please see the main website.
Workshops are also available on Skype.

There is a non compulsory registration fee of R50 for 1 or 2 children and an extra R20 for additional children sharing a stall. If you are unable to pay this fee please contact me to apply for a reduced fee or a free stall as a limited number are available for those who need assistance. I do however think it is a good idea to teach the children the concept of rent and overheads. There are also start up assistance packages available, free workshops, training & support.

Please complete all the details in full. I need surnames, ages, schools, etc.

Each stall is required to have a sign and complete the accounting sheet provided as well as sending in two pre market adverts: One Jpeg still and one short Youtube which can be very basic made by the kids on a phone.
All children fulfilling this will get a certificate of participation and there will be an Entrepreneur of the Day.
Younger children may have assistance but please only one adult per stall, it detracts from the event if there are too many adults. For children 12 and over it is preferred that they do not have an adult at their stall all the time.

Please note environmental awareness is key. Upcyle, recycle, avoid plastic as much as possible and leave your area spotless. As of 16 June 2017 no more balloons will be permitted and single use plastic will not be permitted. No live animals like silkworms or goldfish etc. Responsible worm farms are fine. Please talk to me is you are unsure or need any more information or assistance.

Please let me know if you prefer for your children not to be photographed.
I am trying to grow this event and will be taking photos for the newspaper and social media. If you do not want your child photographed please let me know and I will do my best to honor this. However some venues may take their own photos as well as newspaper photographers and other interested people and I am not able to control this. I suggest a notice on the stall saying "No photos please" if you are concerned. I am very sensitive to this and would hate for anyone to be put off if they are worried so feel free to give me a call if you need to make a special arrangement. As always, I am open to any input and suggestion.

This needs to be as accurate possible please and any changes will have to be approved so we can avoid duplication of goods. I suggest they try a few different goods and / or services at a variety of prices. You will be contacted via e-mail if there are already suppliers of your choice of goods. Please make sure you have read the guidelines in the links above and note environmental awareness is key. Upcyle, recycle, avoid plastic as much as possible. As of 16 June 2017 no more balloons will be permitted. No live animals like silkworms or goldfish etc. Responsible worm farms are fine. Please talk to me is you are unsure. ACTIVITY STALLS ARE ENCOURAGED. I prefer to avoid "made in China". Please note electricity points are not available, no cooking or hot foods. We are still confirming details with the V&A so there may be certain restrictions still to come.
