We are now accepting applications for the AUHSD Summer Film Academy. This is an opportunity for current AUHSD 11th and 10th grade students that will help them develop filmmaking skills and create short documentaries. In addition, students will receive a scholarship upon completion of the program.
Summer: The first half of the academy will include theory and application of film techniques, such as cinematography, lighting, sound, editing, and narrative through lectures, exercises, and real-world assignments. The second half will be dedicated to storyboarding, prepping, filming, editing, and archiving AUHSD documentary projects. There will also be opportunities to visit college campuses/film schools and view film screenings at local theaters.
2019-2020 School Year: In addition, this group of students will create personal, in-depth documentaries on people, topics, classes, or events at his/her school and will also film, edit, and archive major events/programs for AUHSD during the regular school year.
Spaces are limited and students must be available June 3-June 28, Monday-Friday, 9am-1pm to participate. If interested, please complete and submit the following application by Friday, May 3. If you know a student from your site that would be a great candidate for this program, please encourage him/her to apply. You may email any questions to John Bautista at email@example.com. Good luck!
