E.g. Uganda often tops the global charts for both youth and entrepreneurship. But this entrepreneurship is enforced, unsupported, and consequently rarely creates systemic change. United Social Ventures (UK Charity No. 1158935; Ugandan NGO No. 11853) is changing this by providing entrepreneurship support for youth-led social start-ups. We offer training workshops and one-to-one coaching to young people at the very start of their journeys as social entrepreneurs. This enables them to use global best-practice methodologies - such as Human Centered Design, Systems Thinking, Lean Start-up – to design innovative impact and business models that make their initiatives more effective, sustainable, and scalable. Ventures have valued our support at twice the costs and won recognition from international awards such as the Anzisha Prize, the Global Cisco Innovation Competition, the Africa Prize for Engineering, the International Youth Foundation’s Global Fellowship. In the last two years, we’ve been responsible for ventures raising over $100,000 in financing.
