If you are interested in other types of housing related assistance, there are several state resources that may meet your needs. DCHD has also announced special funding under the Residential Assistance for Families in Transition (RAFT) program to support eligible households facing housing instability as a result of a COVID-19 related housing crisis. This funding is administered by regional agencies and further information can be found on the COVID-19 DHCD website.

If you have not yet applied for unemployment assistance, please visit the Mass.Gov site for Important Employment Information. You can apply online, find FAQs, and sign up to attend a virtual town hall on applying for unemployment assistance.

Program Guidelines:

To qualify for this financial assistance:

- you must either not be eligible for the new extended unemployment benefits offered by the federal government,
- or because of the nature of your job, the unemployment benefits that you will receive represent a significant
  reduction in your actual income.

Applicants will also need to certify that:
- they do not have savings to meet this need, and
- do not have access to other resources, including gifts from family members or other associates.

** The rental relief fund is not considered in the federal “public charge” test. Assistance from the Rental Relief Fund is not one of the “cash” or “non-cash” benefits listed in the public charge rule. **

We are truly sorry that we are unable to assist you at this time, and hope that you find these resources helpful. We understand that this is a very stressful time for everyone, and hope that you are well and safe.
