Fun with Fundamentals (2nd-4th grade) will help young students dig into the bones of writing through games, wacky exercises and interactive activities that stretch their imaginations.
Story Magic (3rd-5th grade) Through group dynamics, imaginative prompts and role-playing exercises, students will learn the basic elements of story creation and put their inspirations on paper.
Out of this World! (4th-6th grade) Through their writing, students explore and create new worlds, time periods, cultures and creatures all their own!
BeTWEEN the Lines (5th-7th grade) merges The Writers Circle’s playful approach to creative writing with discussions that delve deeper into the components of story-making.
Stranger than Fiction (various grades) will give students the chance to bring their own personal stories, observations and experiences to life on the page.
Teen Writers Circle (middle/high school) Balancing inspiration with discipline, this workshop explores story elements like plot, character, pacing, point of view and style, inviting students to write in any genre they choose.
Historical Fiction (middle/high school) This workshop invites students to take a step into the past, utilizing research and their imaginations to envision life at a specific place and time in history.
Poetry (various grades) Using the best contemporary poetry as models, students will learn to pack a punch with their words and attempt to reach the sublime.
Less Stress College Essays (10th-12th grade) This workshop guides students toward a draft of their college essays while introducing them to stress reduction techniques that will ease them through the college application process.
