2020- 2021 Do Better Executive Board Application
This is the application for the 2020 - 2021 Do Better Community Service and Self-Improvement Organization Executive Board. In order to be qualified for any position you must be a full-time undergraduate student at the University of Maryland, College Park. You must also commit to participating on this Executive Board for the full 2020-2021 academic year. Your sole responsibility as a member of this Executive Board, is to execute our mission that is; To inspire and promote the bettering of oneself and the community through self-improvement, selflessness and accountability. All positions on this board are essential to the execution of this mission at our University and in our community.

Position Descriptions
1. President- The President is responsible for setting the semester schedule of events as well as effectively planning the events, in conjunction with the rest of the Executive Board. The President is responsible for working in conjunction with the Treasurer to set the budget and appropriate all necessary funds to those events which require them. The President in conjunction with the Secretary, are responsible for the managing and amending of the Do Better Constitution, Executive Board Members Responsibilities, and any other documents at the foundation of the Organization. In exigent circumstances the President has the power to make an executive decision, so long as it is acting in the best interest of the Do Better Organization. The President is also responsible for fulfilling any duty not specifically mentioned above that ensures the successful execution of their role as an Executive Board Member and the success of Do Better.

2. Vice President- The Vice President is responsible for assisting the President with all of their responsibilities stated under the President's description. In the President’s absence, the Vice President holds the power to make said executive decisions, so long as it is acting in the best interest of the Do Better Organization. The Vice President will also be responsible for overseeing the freshman committee and making sure they are successfully completing their responsibilities. The Vice President is also responsible for fulfilling any duty that is not specified but ensures the execution of their role as an Executive Board Member and the success of Do Better.

3. Secretary- The Secretary is responsible for acquiring, filing, and keeping record of all
paperwork necessary for any meetings, events, or gathering of the organization in any venue. The Secretary is responsible for reserving all of the places on campus in which Do Better holds a meeting, event, etc. The Secretary is responsible for recording attendance for events and service hours on the terplink. The Secretary is responsible for keeping inventory of the T-Shirts, in terms of raw count, not monetary gains from the T-Shirts. The Secretary is responsible for managing and updating the listserv for Do Better. The Secretary, in conjunction with the Public Relations Chair, is responsible for sending out bi-weekly emails to our general body. The Secretary is also responsible for fulfilling any duty not specifically mentioned above that ensures the successful execution of their role as an Executive Board Member and the success of Do Better.

4. Treasurer- The Treasurer is solely responsible for starting and managing the bank account for Do Better. The Treasurer is responsible for setting the official budget for the Do Better organization, having consulted the President and Vice President for final approval. The Treasurer is responsible for the collection of all monetary funds generated by the Do Better organization such as T-shirt sales, event revenue, donations, membership fees and the like. The Treasurer is responsible for updating the Executive Board on the status of the funds of the Do Better Organization. The Treasurer is responsible for consulting the Executive Board as a whole before making any decisions regarding the appropriation, distribution, or funding of any occurrence not officially listed in the budget. In the event of extreme circumstances, the Treasurer has the power to make any necessary decisions regarding the funds of Do Better, so long as it is acting in the best interest of Do Better. The Treasurer is also responsible for fulfilling any duty not specifically mentioned above that ensures the successful execution of their role as an Executive Board Member and the success of Do Better.

5. Public Relations Chair- The Public Relations Chair is responsible for the task of providing creative ideas to draw in and retain the prospective members of Do Better such as T-Shirt sales, events, fundraisers, and the like. The Public Relations Chair is responsible or playing the role of liaison between the students at the University of Maryland and the Executive Board of Do Better, reporting to us what the students on campus would like to see the organization involved in and providing feedback from the students about past events. The Public Relations Chair is responsible for working in conjunction with the Marketing Chair to manage and update all Social Media accounts directly affiliated with Do Better. The Public Relations Chair is responsible for damage control, in the event that it is necessary. The Public Relations Chair is also responsible for fulfilling any duty not specifically mentioned above that ensures the successful execution of their role as an Executive Board Member and the success of Do Better.

6. Marketing Chair- The Marketing Chair is responsible for the promotion of all planned
events of the Do Better Organization in the form of flyers (digital and physical), promotional postings and pictures on all Social Media accounts directly affiliated with the Do Better Organization, and any other forms of promotion that the Marketing Chair sees fit. The Marketing Chair is responsible for the creation, management, and update of all of the Social Media accounts directly affiliated with Do Better. The Marketing Chair has complete creative autonomy in the design and artistic direction of all promotional tools, so long as they are appropriate and convey the message of the Do Better organization. The Marketing Chair, in conjunction with the Public Relations Chair, is also responsible for Marketing Committee operations. The Marketing Chair is also responsible for fulfilling any duty not specifically mentioned above that ensures the successful execution of their role as an Executive Board Member and the success of Do Better.

7. Community Service Chair- The Community Service Chair will work closely with the Public Relations Chair and Secretary in order to manage membership status's and the listserv. The Community Service Chair will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining relationships with service opportunity locations. The Community Service Chair will also play a major role in the planning and execution of events.  The Community Service Chair is also responsible for fulfilling any duty not specifically mentioned above that ensures the successful execution of their role as an Executive Board Member and the success of Do Better.

8. Webmaster - The Webmaster's main responsibility is the official Do Better website. The Webmaster will work closely with the Marketing Chair and Secretary to assure the website is update in news, events, photographs, etc. The Webmaster will also be responsible for working with the Marketing Chair to create promotional content. The Webmaster  is also responsible for fulfilling any duty not specifically mentioned above that ensures the successful execution of their role as an Executive Board Member and the success of Do Better.
