2012 Sex & Politics in the Capital City Advocacy Day!

**REGISTRATION FOR ADVOCACY DAY IS NOW CLOSED. THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE REGISTERED**

It's more crucial than ever that we make our messages heard and speak out against the attacks on reproductive freedom. This includes letting our elected officials know that they need to stop using our health and rights as bargaining chips to advance their personal agendas.

That's why Advocates for Youth, Center for Health and Gender Equity (CHANGE), Choice USA, & Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS) is teaming up to give you the education and training you need on a variety of issues related to sexual health, reproductive justice and HIV/AIDS, to advocate for our rights on The Hill! Advocacy Day will occur Tuesday, July 10, from 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Advocacy Day is intended to expose interns interested in and currently working within the field of reproductive health and rights to legislative discussions on Capitol Hill. Advocacy Day will begin with a run-down of current international and domestic policy issues. Interns will then break into small groups to plan for afternoon meetings with Hill staffers who work for representatives from their home states. Advocacy Day will conclude with a discussion and debriefing of Hill meetings. We hope interns leave feeling excited, informed, and empowered to advocate on reproductive and sexual health and rights issues

In order to provide you with the best experience possible, we would like you to please fill out and submit the questionnaire below. Doing so will reserve your spot in our Advocacy Day. Once we receive this participant confirmation form, the planning organizations will place you into a group with other interns from your home state and will plan Hill meetings for you accordingly. Without submitting this form, we will not place you into a state group and you will not have a reserved spot in Advocacy Day.

We will provide you with breakfast on Tuesday, July 10, and will equip you with all relevant knowledge you will need so you feel confident to have successful Hill meetings. Please note we are unable to provide interns with lunch.

Please meet us at National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD) located on 444 N Capitol St NW # 339, Washington, DC. We will start the day in SSO Conf. Room 337 A/B.

Attire on the Hill is business professional. Please dress accordingly!

Once you complete this registration form, we will send you and your supervisor a follow-up email. Since Advocacy Day requires a day-long commitment, please make sure your supervisor sees this email to confirm your attendance.
