We are a non-profit arts organization that offers youth development workshops through arts programs to youth living in the Lower West side including Pilsen and Little Village. The Pozolada annual fundraiser helps ensure we can provide free arts programs to 4,500 families and youth throughout the year.
The Pozolada’s premise is simple: guests enjoy pozole prepared and donated by community members and local restaurants. Guests select a complimentary artist-made ceramic bowl - on first come, first serve basis - which they get to take home at the end of the evening.
If you would like to participate, we would ask you to make enough pozole to feed 30-40 guests, a 5-10 gallon pot. The pozole can be verde, rojo, blanco, or vegetarian. In addition to our immense gratitude, we would also offer you a bowl as a souvenir of your contribution an option of event tickets. Please keep in mind that since we are non-profit, the cost of ingredients is tax deductible. You can also count on receiving two 6 lb cans of hominy generously donated by La Preferida. If you are interested in participating please let us know by November 19th.
By participating you will automatically be entered in La Cuchara de Oro contest. Attendees will get a ballot and will vote on their favorite pozole. At the end of the night the best pot of pozole will be announced and the winner will be given the Cuchara de Oro Award consisting of public recognition as best pozole of the evening and a gift certificate.
Deadline to participate is November 19th, 2016
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration!
