PURPOSE:
At its upcoming 2017 First Nation Directors of Education National Forum in Calgary, Alberta on March 1-2, the Assembly of First Nations (AFN) will continue its discussion about the creation of a First Nation Directors of Education Association.  

As a First Nation Education Director, we are asking that you support this dialogue by answering the brief questionnaire.  We are looking for responses to be collected by Friday, February 28th.

BACKGROUND:
At it's first-ever National First Nation Directors of Education Forum in February 2016, the Assembly of First Nations (AFN) provided a space for an initial discussion about the creation of a First Nation Directors of Education Association.

Similar First Nations institutions have been created for other professional designations, including the First Nations Health Managers Association (FNHMA) and the Aboriginal Financial Officers Association of Canada (AFOA Canada), which were both spearheaded by the AFN.

The AFN wishes to continue this conversation with First Nation Directors of Education in order to determine the interest and direction required to create a First Nation Directors of Education Association.
