Thank you for your interest in applying for the 2026-2027 12th Annual Black Foundation of Community Networks (BFCN) Aim 2 Achieve Award. The BFCN Scholarships and Awards were created to recognize outstanding Black students with bright futures as upcoming leaders and dreamers in their communities.
The Aim 2 Achieve Award will recognize Black students who are celebrating achievement after facing adversity. This year BFCN will be awarding two Aim 2 Achieve awards. The recipients of the $1000 award will be students graduating from a Canadian secondary school or CEGEP and who will be attending an accredited Canadian University or College in September 2026 to pursue undergraduate education. Perseverance and dedication are two qualities that the Aim 2 Achieve winners must embody and demonstrate. Achievement exists in many different forms and we want to hear about yours!
Selection Criteria
- Must be a Black student
- Must be graduating high school or CEGEP in June 2026 and attending an accredited Canadian post-
- secondary institution in September 2026 to pursue undergraduate education on a full-time or part-time basis
- Must demonstrate perseverance and dedication that has led to an achievement

- Complete and submit the online Google Form application

A Note on Generative AI
We understand that there continues to be an increase in the usage of generative AI by both organizations and applicants. However, BFCN commits to not using any generative AI to design, review, or select applications in our program. We will also not review or consider any submitted applications that use generative AI for the written or video components. We want to hear and celebrate your unique story in your unique voice! Selection Process
Successful candidates will be selected by the BFCN Scholarship Committee based on the above criteria. The recipients will be contacted by February 2027 and the funds will be directly awarded via e-Transfer. Online applications along with all supporting documents must be received no later than July 31, 2026. Please note that only successful candidates will be contacted.
