The SVMS House Sorting Project
     This year, all students at Smithson Valley Middle School will be sorted into one of four houses that will act as a sort of family for you within the larger SVMS community. These families will extend beyond your grade level, what classes you have, or what clubs and teams you are a part of, linking you to our wider Mustang community!

      It is our hope that this connection will provide our younger students with peer mentors who can help them throughout the year AND provide our older students with opportunities for leadership and growth.

      The four houses are built from a set the SVMS Band introduced last school year, called Impact, Serenade, Spark, and Bravura. Each house has an associated mascot, coat of arms, and unique ties to legendary and historical figures, as well as specific personality characteristics common to members of that house.

      Within each of the four houses, students will be sorted further into a color cohort (Impact Red / Impact Gray; Serenade Gold / Serenade Black; Spark Blue / Spark Silver; Bravura Green / Bravura White) to help provide better opportunities for peer to peer cooperation, teamwork, and mentorship in smaller group settings.
