CODE OF CONDUCT

Barbeque on the Bow Society has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for teams, judges and participants that abuse organizers, representatives, volunteers, attendees, judges or other teams.   Remain professional whether you win or lose and be kind towards others.  Let's keep BBQ fun!

During the event, participants should not be involved in any type of illicit or disorderly conduct, this includes but is not limited to, fighting, foul language, drinking excessively to the point of public intoxication, using illegal drugs.

During the cooks meeting members should show our KCBS Reps, team organizer(s) or anyone else respect and refrain from loud talking, interrupting speakers, while they conduct the meeting. 

Participants will behave in a way to respect this  family friendly event.  If you would not use certain language or behave in a certain fashion with your Grandma, please do not use use such language or/and exhibit such behaviour(s) at BBQ on the Bow.  

Event attendees are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful manner at the event and on social media respective to the event at all times. You,  as a participant are a representative and should not denigrate the event. All negative comments, complaints or disagreements should be reported to the KCBS reps and or contest organizer in an effort to resolve the issue. If there is an issue that you can solve, versus complaining, we appreciate your efforts. Remember, these events are run by volunteers that brings this hobby of BBQ to life. Our board reserves the right to decline entry requests from judges or teams.

Meats are NOT included for the KCBS Master Series contest; teams must supply their own meats.  

This barbecue competition gives teams a chance at compete at the American Royal Invitational, KCBS Invitational, win a bung for the Jack Daniels World Championship and compete at the BBQ World Cup (GC & RGC).

We will have electricity, water, grease, garbage and ash bins provided for you.

Please include your team name on the E-Transfer.  No refunds.

Your team registration is finalized, when payment has been received and an email confirmation from BBQ on the Bow Society has been issued. 

Team registrations will close at the end of day August 15, 2026.

The event is being held at Shriners Stables 5151 101 St NW, Calgary, AB T3L 1S4. More details on the event will be sent to teams by email in August.

Waiver of Liability and General Release.

I understand that BBQ on the Bow is a day and nighttime outdoor event, the ground cover and lighting are uneven, that there are many people, temporary facilities, stationary and moving equipment on the grounds as well as other potential hazards.

In consideration of the acceptance of this team registration,  I, the undersigned, intending to be legally bound, hereby, for myself, my heirs, my team, executors and administrators, waive and release all rights and claims for any and all damages I or my team may have against the the Barbeque on the Bow Society, its directors, representatives, successors, employees, contractors, guests and fellow volunteers. I agree to abide by the rules and regulations of KCBS, the Code of Conduct and any additional rules of the BBQ on the Bow Competition. I grant full permission to the event organizers and/or agents authorized by them, to use any pictures.
