This toolkit takes you on a step-by-step basis through the requirements you need to meet before you register on a non-medical prescribing programme (NMP) in the UK. The requirements are the same whether you are self-employed or work in private practice. This tool kit offers advice and signposting to resources that can support you in this process.
The toolkit can be used by healthcare professionals, non-medical prescribing leads, service and provider organisations, commissioners, and Universities who are involved with implementing non-medical prescribing. Patients and carers and other medical professionals may also find the tool kit useful.
Designed in 2017 by a team of NMP programme leads and experts, led by researchers at the University of Surrey, the toolkit applies to prescribing courses offered to nurses, pharmacists and allied health professionals in the UK.
In order to proceed through the toolkit you will need to enter an email address. This will enable you to receive feedback at the end. To receive an emailed output of your responses, including detail of the content viewed, click ‘submit’ when you reach the final section of this toolkit. The information you enter may be used by the University of Surrey for purposes of monitoring use of the toolkit.
We would love to hear your feedback and provide space for this at the end of the tool.
We hope that you find the toolkit useful.
