Chapter Leadership Team Position Descriptions
Chapter Leader
The Chapter Leader is responsible for managing and leading the operations and activities of the school Chapter.

Key Responsibilities:
 Organize and lead monthly meetings with the membership and Leadership Team
 Speak as the Chapter representative for because I said I would at fundraising and school-wide events
 Maintain overall responsibility of all Chapter Leadership Team (Logistics, Fundraising, Photojournalist, and Volunteer Projects)
 Assist with recruitment of Chapter Members and maintain Chapter membership at a minimum of 30
 Participate in a 30 minute planning call with the Chapter Relationship Manager (CRM) at the National Office.
 Attend the one day in person training
 With Photojournalist ensure the because I said I would web portal is utilized to its fullest extent


Volunteer Project Leader
As a member of the Chapter Leadership Team and reporting directly to the Chapter Leader, the Volunteer Project Leader is responsible for assisting with the development and management of group Volunteer Projects.

Key Responsibilities:
 Work with the Leadership Team and other Chapter members to select a Volunteer Project to complete in the school or community
 Submit Volunteer Project Submission forms to the National Office when necessary
 Oversee the planning and execution of the Volunteer Project including contacting outside partners (if applicable) and managing the completion of tasks by other Leadership Team members
 Recruit additional volunteers outside of the Leadership Team for the Volunteer Project
 Attend monthly Meetups, monthly Leadership Team meetings, and all Volunteer Projects
 Attend the one day in person training
 Attend specific leader calls every three (3) months


Logistics Leader
As a member of the Chapter Leadership Team and reporting directly to the Chapter Leader, the Logistics Leader is responsible for the detailed coordination of Chapter Meetups and Volunteer Projects as well as Promise Planning facilitation at monthly Meetups.

Key Responsibilities:
 Coordinate the logistical needs for monthly Chapter Meetups and Volunteer Projects, including ordering supplies, working with the Teacher Advisor to order food, and printing all materials and bringing them to each event
 Reserve space for monthly Chapter Meetups, Volunteer Projects and Chapter Fundraisers
 Collect forms and sign-in sheets at the end of Chapter Meetups
 Submit attendance in an established document
 Facilitate the Promise Planning section of the monthly Meetups
 Attend monthly Meetups, monthly Leadership Team meetings, and all Volunteer Projects
 Attend the one day in person training
 Attend specific leader calls every three (3) months

Photojournalist Leader
As a member of the Chapter Leadership Team and reporting directly to the Chapter Leader, the Photojournalist Leader is responsible for ongoing communication for and promotion of the school Chapter.

Key Responsibilities:
 Capture compelling, quality images at monthly Chapter Meetups and Volunteer Projects, including staged and candid photos; see Appendix H for a Shot List
 Upload images and footage into the specified folder within 48 hours of the Meetup or event
 Capture promise stories from Chapter members and/or school staff
 Manage and oversee the Chapter’s social media platforms; ensuring that all Chapter events are posted to the chapter’s various social media platforms
 Invite members and other students to Chapter events via school sanctioned avenues (i.e. Email, announcements, newsletter, and social media or the Chapter’s designated mode of member and school-wide communication
 Assist with the marketing and promotion of Chapter events, including distribution of materials such as flyers, Promise Cards, and brochures
 Coordinate announcements to be made at other clubs or student organizations
 Utilize the because I said I would web portal and ensure the chapter is utilizing it
 Attend monthly Meetups, monthly Leadership Team meetings, and all Volunteer Projects
 Attend the one day in person training
 Attend specific leader calls every three (3) months

Fundraising Leader
As a member of the Chapter Leadership Team and reporting directly to the Chapter Leader, the Fundraising Leader is responsible for maintaining Chapter funds and coordinating fundraisers for the school Chapter.

Key Responsibilities:
 Maintain and monitor Chapter funds in a responsible and confidential manner
 Regularly communicate with the Teacher Advisor
 Partner with the Chapter Leadership Team to brainstorm fundraising ideas
 Plan at least 1 Chapter fundraiser annually and ensure its success
 Attend monthly Meetups, monthly Leadership Team meetings, and all Volunteer Projects
 Attend the one day in person training
 Attend specific leader calls every three (3) months
