Join the YLP Mentorship Program as a Mentee!
To foster opportunities for continued learning and professional development in the land conservation field, the Young Land Professionals (YLP) Committee of the Mass Land Trust Coalition invites you to apply to join the YLP Mentorship Program as a mentee! This is NOT an internship, but rather an informal and organic mentorship opportunity designed to connect emerging professionals with experienced leaders in their field. Through this tool, we hope you will meet mentors with a variety of skill sets, interests, and experiences to support you in your continued professional development.

How it works:

The YLP committee has created brief surveys (see below) to be completed by mentors and mentees. Once completed, your responses will populate into a Mentee Page (which will be shared with you after completing your submission), viewable to the YLP network at large. Because all information will be shared, please complete the form below to whatever degree you are most comfortable with (note: you can leave any question blank).

Once you complete the form below a confirmation email will be sent to you with a link to the Mentor Page. Check out the Mentor Page to review mentor responses and find a mentor who can support you with your professional goals. If you find a mentor who you think might be a good fit, reach out directly to them using the contact information and preferred contact method indicated on their survey. If you don't find a mentor that supports your professional needs, please check back regularly, as new mentors are completing this form on a rolling basis.

The time commitment involved in mentorship is up to you. The survey allows you to choose from three levels of engagement (on-going, moderate or minimal), which are described further below. Asking both mentors and mentees to specify their desired level of engagement is meant to aid the matching process, but the precise level and duration of mentorship can be determined by the individuals involved. For those seeking on-going mentorship, we suggest you commit to one year of regular communication with your mentor, to be extended further only if mutually agreeable. You may choose how many mentors you reach out to for support.

If you are no longer in need of mentorship support, you can request to be removed from the Mentees Page at any time by filling out the Mentee Check In form (link below) or contacting

The Role of the YLP Committee:

The YLP committee will NOT match mentees and mentors, it is up to each individual to use this tool to make connections and build networks. The YLP committee will manage this tool by reviewing submissions, making changes, and editing or removing listings by request of participants. If you are no longer in need of mentorship support or need to make changes to your submission, please contact:
