Thank you for your interest in training with us to become a Forest School Assistant.
This form is to apply to book onto the Norfolk Level 2 course starting on 20th March 2024. 

Please ensure that the person enrolling onto the course is the person completing this application form. It includes a student declaration and agreement.

Assisting at a Forest School *
The level 2 training requires students to assist on 3 consecutive Forest School sessions, run by a qualified Forest School Leader (level 3). Please give details of whom you will be assisting and where the Forest School sessions will take place. If you do not yet know this, we may be able to signpost you to someone.
Safeguarding Children
Safeguarding - We recommend that all practitioners working regularly with children, young people or vulnerable adults have some form of safeguarding training & disclosure checks. This may be a requirement of the Forest School leader you assist, so you may wish to consider seeking a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check if you currently do not have one.
Permissions
Please indicate whether you give your consent to the following aspects of the course.

I give permission for my email address to be shared with other people attending the course for the purpose of networking, communication, lift sharing etc.
Photographs and Video *
I give permission for photographs to be taken of me for the duration of the course. I understand that that these photographs will be primarily be used during training and shared with the attendees as a visual diary. However they could also appear in documents, websites and social media, including publicity.
E-Newsletter *
I give permission for my email address to be signed up to Louise's E-Newsletter which contains information about Forest School, Outdoor Learning, Nature Connection etc
Declaration by Applicant
Please read the following carefully, as by booking a place on the course you are agreeing to these terms.
 
1. I have read the course literature and understand the nature and expectations of the training course, including the number hours of work (this is estimated as 60 hours). I understand that some of this time will be self directed learning.
 
2. I will attend all course elements (as outlined on the course flier) and fully complete the training according to the course timetable (barring unexpected circumstances). I will commit the time to complete the coursework elements of the training, in my own time if necessary.
 
3. I have read FSTC's terms and conditions, and understand that the course fees are non-refundable once the course has started.
 
4. I understand that I am required to find an established Forest School programme (led by a qualified level 3 Forest School Leader) to support at 3 consecutive sessions.
 
5. I know of no medical reason why I should not participate in any of the training activities listed in the course information, including: use of tools, shelter building, team games, firelighting, campfire cooking, woodland conservation tasks, green woodwork & tree climbing.
 
6. I understand that the training contract is with myself, even if another person or organisation is funding the training. If my workplace is funding my course fees I will ensure that the organisations management is aware of the course requirements and this declaration.
