The award provides up to 15 credit hours of tuition each fall and spring semester for up to four consecutive years as long as the continuing requirements are met.

The award covers only tuition for classes taken at GBSC. It does not cover tuition for any classes taken through partner institutions.

The award may only be applied toward tuition; it does not pay for other expenses such as room, board, books, fees, living expenses, travel, or summer rent and food. The student or sponsors must pay for all non-tuition expenses (as well as any tuition not covered by the award).

Award recipients may apply for an available on campus work/study position to assist in paying for the room and board portion of their school bill. Students who are hired for a full-time position will work an average of 15 hours per week for the school while school is in session. In order to be eligible for student employment, an award recipient must obtain a social security number (http://www.ssa.gov/online/ss-5.pdf).

If the award is granted but circumstances prevent the student from attending the year the award was granted, the student must reapply for the award to receive it in the future.

A maximum of 20 students may be on the award at any one time.

The student must maintain his/her status as a student.

The student must maintain a good reputation of spiritual and social relations.

The student must be in compliance with all United States immigration policies.

The student must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress minimums (2.0 GPA and a completion rate of 67%) and be progressing toward graduation.

The student must be a diligent worker and remain in good standing with GBSC work/study department (applies to those who have received the award and a work/study position). The work position and award may be forfeited if the student loses his/her job due to poor work performance and/or attendance. If a student forfeits a job, then the student or sponsor will need to pay for the portion of the school bill that would have been paid for with the wages from the work/study position.

The student must pay all mandatory school fees by their due dates.

The student must continue to demonstrate financial need. If the student's economic situation improves and/or the student displays signs of wealth (car, private room, etc.), the award and work study position assistance will be reviewed for possible reduction or termination.
