WIP CONFERENCE
‘The Internet of the next 4 billion’ – Imagining an Internet of the poor (how) will it deliver an accessible, affordable, open and free flow of information and communication in Africa and the rest of ‘the global South’

Wits University in association with World Internet Project will host a conference comparing developments in African countries with those in other countries with similar levels of access and use and a similar reliance on ‘the mobile Internet’ looking at latest evidence and ideas on connecting the unconnected.

TOURS
Soweto History Tour
Visit to Welgevonden Game Reserve
The tour will leave on Sunday morning and return to Johannesburg on Monday early afternoon. This is a unique opportunity to visit a very beautiful lodge and reserve at a discounted price. Please note that you will need to pay a deposit soon to secure this tour. Details will be sent to you separately if you indicate you would like to do this tour.
Johannesburg Accomodation
The Conference hotel is the Rosebank Crowne Plaza hotel located about 10 minutes from the University. Cost is approximately $145 per night B&B at the conference rate.
Please advise whether you will be staying at the conference hotel. Transport to and from the hotel to the University will be provided.
