Grow Nashua Volunteer Application
Greetings, we're so glad you're here and interested in building a more resilient food system and environment for our shared community.

Volunteer opportunities are a great way for families and neighbors to work together helping Grow Nashua create a more reliable and just future one neighborhood at a time!

See current open Volunteer Position Descriptions below. Then complete the questions that follow.

*Garden Tender*
Gardens require love throughout the growing season to stay vibrant and bountiful for all who visit. Your role as Garden Tender would be to provide care to one of these gardens and to those who visit these beautiful growing spaces! You may participate in a specific site update project or regular tidying, raking, planting, chatting with families about their needs, answering questions of passerby about joining in on the fun, and educating about what is growing in the gardens.  This is a great activity for individuals, couples, and families to all do together and occurs weekly from April through September!

*Veggie Courier*
Veggie Couriers will assist with produce collection and distribution for the Lil’ Free Farmstands and/or the Veggies at Home programs.  Both of these programs share fresh produce, recipes, and nourishment with families in need in our community. This position requires a vehicle and occurs weekly from July through October.

*School Garden Volunteer*
Our school gardens provide weekly lessons to 4th and 5th students building their food literacy through garden activities that investigate the garden space, plant from seed, taste what the garden has to offer, and tend to plants! School Garden Volunteers work alongside our Grow Nashua educators to prepare materials and assist students in the garden in a variety of ways during lessons. Note: Lessons take place during the school day, typically between 8am-2:30pm

*Lil’ Free Farmstand Greeter*
Our Lil' Free Farmstand operates 7 days a week in 10 different Nashua neighborhoods. The greeter will welcome our neighbors to the farmstand, answer questions, and keep the stand stocked and organized during open hours. One of our favorite roles to do ourselves and meet our Nashua neighbors!
