First Year Initiative Mentee Application
First Year Initiative (FYI) is a mentorship program headed by the Cornell Asian Pacific Islander Student Union (CAPSU) with support from the Asian and Asian American Center. The program seeks to pair first year students with upperclassmen leaders from the community who will guide these students as they transition into life at Cornell.

As a mentee, you will have the opportunity to see first hand the experiences that accompany being a leader within the Asian community and within the greater Cornell community, not only through an engaging curriculum, but also through a mentor you will be paired with.

It is normal to feel lost and overwhelmed in these first few weeks and even months of college, and these mentors can relate to you how they first took their first steps into becoming involved with the Asian and Asian American community at Cornell.

Through this program, we hope to provide opportunities for engaging campus involvement, help develop your leadership skills, and create a strong sense of community for you.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the program, please email CAPSU's Directors of Mentorship Initiatives: Jaia Clingham-David (ejc248@cornell.edu), Stephanie Lin (sl828@cornell.edu), and Grace Shau (gs623@cornell.edu).
