Lesson Fees: all music lessons at Stanford carry a fee in addition to quarterly tuition. Private lessons are $325 for Music majors and $650 for non-majors. Fee also includes unlimited use of practice rooms. Financial support is available through the Friends of Music. For information about lesson support, email Rowen Leigh at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the Department of Music office in Braun Music Center.
Zero-Unit Registration: All students who would otherwise audit flute lessons due to the unit limits of their major or advanced degree program must enroll in the zero-unit version of lesson studios, MUSIC 179Z. Request permission from your instructor to enroll once you are placed into a studio. Zero-unit enrollment allows the Department of Music to allocate resources based on the number of students taking lessons and ensemble courses. Students who would need to visit Undergraduate Advising to request an exception to the 20-unit enrollment limit should do so for a zero-unit enrollment as well.
