In early September, the students will be introduced to this assignment, divide into teams, and then choose from the list of interested businesses and organizations. By early October, each student team will meet with its client to learn about the specific needs and goals of the organization and the purpose that the site should serve. Over the course of the semester, the students will then design and build the website with an online website software program, incorporating text and photographs provided by the organization.
In early December, the students will meet with their clients to show early drafts of the websites and get feedback on what should be modified in order to better meet the needs of the organization. Students will be required to make changes based on input from their clients. After the semester is over in mid- December, ownership of the websites will be turned over to the respective organizations. Students will be encouraged to use a no-cost web design and web hosting service that should be easy for the client to use. Those with average computer skills should find their sites easy to modify once they assume ownership.
If your business or organization is in need of a website, or if it would benefit from a redesigned site, then please fill in the following form. Unfortunately, because we may have more interest than we’re able to accommodate, not all organizations that apply may be chosen. Please fill out this form no later than Wednesday, August 29, 2018 to ensure that your organization isavailable for consideration. You should hear from the student teams within a week after that if your organization has been selected. Feel free to contact Professors Annetta Grant (email@example.com) or Richard Kedzior (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have any questions about this project. We hope to have the opportunity to work with you.
