Dear Year 9 Students and Parents / Carers,
I hope the information for Year 9 Options has been helpful and has allowed you to be clear about the choices that Year 9 students have as they move closer to their Key Stage 4 studies and begin to personalise their curriculum in Year 10.
In order to allow us the time to create an effective curriculum for Year 10, we ask our Year 9 students to choose their options between January and February half term - the deadline for choices to be submitted is 3 March.
All Year 9 students must choose four GCSE options. This allows us to provide a broad curriculum for all our students in Key Stage 4.
Please remember that AT LEAST ONE of your options needs to be an EBacc subject (Computer Science, French, Geography, History, Separate Science), although you can pick more than one if you wish to.
It is important that you also choose two reserve choices.
Please use the Options Booklet and supporting materials on our options website, to help you to choose the four subjects that are right for you.
Please also remember that you cannot study Art & Design and Textiles, as these are the same course, just taught using different mediums. Choosing one over the other will not hamper your pathway onto Post 16 Art courses or training.
