The NWA Hispanic Leadership Council is
launching the 2024 Summer Semester Cohort for the Latinx on the Rise Internship
Program. The Program seeks local nonprofit organizations, businesses, public
sector initiatives, and investor networks to place University of Arkansas and
NWACC Latinx students for a semester-long internship (160 hours). The
goals of the internship are to provide training, mentoring, and support to
rising Latinx students to succeed in professional environments and to become
active members in their community. The Program will provide interns a stipend
of $3,400, funded by a Walton Family Foundation Grant.
The NWA Hispanic Leadership Council (NWA HLC) is a community group organized by
professional Hispanic leaders in NWA in 2017. The mission of the NWA HLC is to
foster and develop Hispanic corporate, academic, non-profit, small business,
and cultural leaders in Northwest Arkansas (NWA) to empower the community and
to influence and shape a diverse and equitable society which will drive
continued prosperity and economic, cultural and social development in this
region. (www.nwahispanic.org)
