Welcome to TGJBS!
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our first-ever 6-day Summer Program, designed to empower and inspire young female artists of all levels while building a strong, supportive community of TGJBS members.
Program Details
📅 Dates: July 27th-August 1st 2026
📍 Location: Sacramento, Natomas Charter School
🕚 Time: 10:30 AM – 4:30 PM daily
💵 Cost: FREE to participate
🥪 Meals: Meals by local catering and adequate breaks provided each day
What to Expect
Over the course of six days, students will:

Dive into instrument study (choose rhythm or horn instruments; beginners learn fundamentals, while intermediate players build technique and theory).

Play in combo rehearsals and perform (work in small groups to learn and perform a jazz standard or create a score, and participate in the end-of-week concert).

Explore jazz and blues history (through games, storytelling, and interactive workshops).

Develop confidence and creativity in a safe, inclusive, and fun environment.
Take part in Mental Wellness Workshops (interactive sessions on self-esteem and emotional wellness led by trained facilitators to support emotional well-being)
Who Can Join?
Girls ages 8-18 at all levels—from beginner to advanced—are welcome. Students are encouraged to bring their own instruments (excluding percussion and piano), or they can choose from a selection provided on-site.
