In most
questions (but not all) we use any:
‒ Is there
any ice in the fridge?
‒ Did they make any mistakes?
We normally use some (not any) when we offer things (Would you like
some...?):
‒ ‘Would
you like some coffee?’ ‘Yes,
please.’
or ask for things (Can I have some...?):
‒ Can I have some soup, please?
‒ Can you lend me some money?
