Special Education Residency Program Inquiry Form
Minneapolis Public Schools and University of St Thomas are partnering to design and develop a special education residency program. If you are interested in being considered to be a part of the 2018-19 school year cohort, please fill out this inquiry form. The application process will reopen in the Fall of 2017.

Current MPS employees with a bachelor’s degree who are interested in earning their initial teaching license in Special Education: Academic and Behavioral Strategist (ABS) are encouraged to apply.

You are eligible to apply if you:
---Are currently employed by Minneapolis Public Schools in an unlicensed position.
---Have experience working with MPS students and families, preferably in a special education classroom.
--- Have completed or will successfully complete a Bachelor’s degree program by May 2017 from a regionally accredited institution. You can check your institution’s accreditation status here: https://www.hlcommission.org/component/directory/
---Have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 (a GPA of 2.5 – 2.75 will be considered holistically)
---Desire to earn initial teaching license in Special Education- Academic and Behavioral Strategist (ABS)
