The purpose of the event is to provide incoming 2016 freshman students and a parent/significant adult an opportunity to gather information about a variety of career pathways and the importance of career planning during the high school years.
The event will include David Tominsky. David is a recruiter for skilled web, software, and embedded engineering careers, an entrepreneur, and a community builder. He believes the next generation approach to economic development is through developing innovative approaches to K-12 education and entrepreneurship to build the 21st century skills required for successful careers.
The keynote will be followed up by smaller interactive break-out sessions that will feature local business and industry experts that will focus on specific occupations, educational requirements and skills, and income potential in various career pathways. Participants in this event will gain insight as to how high school course selection and post-secondary education and/or training is vitally important to successfully navigate to a prosperous, rewarding career.
A small snack and drinks will be offered to participants. A prize drawing for a Samsung Chromebook will be held at the conclusion of the breakout sessions, you must be present at the drawing to claim the prize.
