NY DREAM Act Albany Day of Action Tuesday, May 21st - Registration closed
Thousands of undocumented youth graduate from New York high schools every year and face an uncertain future because of their immigration status. For years the federal government has failed our communities by refusing to pass the DREAM Act. This has left undocumented youth in NY without any form of relief. As a state with one of the largest immigrant populations, NY should be at the forefront of progressive immigration policies, pushing back on the tide of national and local anti-immigrant policies.
Join the NYS DREAM Coalition on Tuesday, May 21st, for the New York DREAM Act Albany Day of Action and demand that our state government act! It is now up to New York State to provide dignity and recognition for all of its promising young people. We now have about a month to pass the bill during this legislative session. If the bill does not pass by this June, thousands of undocumented youth will be stranded once again, unable to realize their higher education goals.
Join us on May 21st to show the NY State legislature that we are unwilling to accept this.
The NYS DREAM Coalition, will have buses leaving NYC the morning of Tuesday, May 21st.
Transportation to Albany and back to NYC will be FREE.
