The first half of the day is dedicated to student-led presentations and activities. The afternoon is comprised of sessions led by local experts from the Humboldt State University and Humboldt County communities.
TEACHER STIPEND: We will be offering a stipend of $500 to teachers who are willing and able to attend two planning meetings (one in-person, one online) leading up to the Youth Summit, in addition to coaching a team of students to present at the Global Youth Summit on February 9. This is fantastic opportunity to network with other globally-engaged educators who are concerned with issues of social and environmental justice. Please register by September 30 to receive a stipend.
NON-STIPEND PARTICIPATION-ONLY: If space is available, teachers may just bring students to observe and participate in the sessions without presenting. Space is limited, and teachers who coach student presenters will be prioritized.
Stipend requirements:1. Meeting One: Introduction to the Youth Summit and this year's theme (date TBD)2. Meeting Two: Online (final logistics and preparation for the summit)3. Global Youth Summit (Friday, February 9, 2018, 9-2, HSU, lunch provided)
Information about the theme: Any student research projects, presentations, hands-on project showcases, activities, art, drama, music, poetry, speeches, etc., are welcome, provided they connect to this year's theme. They may be global or local in scope, and may touch on historic or contemporary issues having to do with water issues, water politics, water sustainability, and/or the future of water.

Registration will be limited to 60 people, so be sure to register as soon as possible.
