Bahamas Youth Blockchain and AI Hackathon + Conference Registration

Hacker Signup

Congratulations! It may seem like we’re jumping the gun here but in applying to hack some of the major challenges facing The Bahamas you’re already a winner. Congratulations also to those parents and guardians who may be supporting you in this endeavor. If you are under 18 this application form should be countersigned by a parent or guardian.

Please Consider Sponsorship

The Hackathon expects to provide all hackers with a great deal of instruction and knowledge about blockchain, in addition to providing room and board, food, and giveaways. This is time intensive and costly work and as a result we have raised sponsorships and donations from corporate and private donors. However, resources are limited and parents and guardians whose resources allow should consider donating in any amount for their registered hacker. Whether or not a parent or guardian donates will not affect the consideration of the hacker application but it will allow us to extend this opportunity to even more hackers.

Applications

All applications received will be reviewed by a committee and we will issue a confirmation of your acceptance into the Hackathon. Our aim is to ensure broad and diverse participation and hackers will not normally be turned away provided that we have space and the applicant demonstrates that they can maintain the commitment required to learn the foundation skills necessary to effectively “hack”. However, acceptance is at the sole discretion of the review committee.

Commitment

We expect that you will be committed to learning and completing the curriculum and participating in the Hackathon on August 23-25th, 2019. While we cannot effectively penalize you for dropping out, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for our “hackers” and space is limited by resources. Failure to complete and participate unnecessarily deprives other prospective hackers of an amazing learning and development opportunity. Further, failure to complete the curriculum disadvantages your team members. We understand that extraordinary circumstances may require you to terminate your participation and should this be the case, please advise us as soon as possible.
