Resign from your Giving What We Can Pledge

We’re sorry to hear that you’re planning to resign from your pledge, but we understand that sometimes keeping your pledge is no longer feasible due to unforeseen circumstances. In these cases, we applaud you taking steps to formally resign.

Before you go, we wanted to make sure you know the following:

-If you are currently unemployed, the pledge only requires you to give 1% of your spending money until you return to a stable income.

-The pledge is over the course of your career, so you can give less than your pledged amount some years if you need to, as long as you catch up. (Some people do this for tax purposes.)

If you’re uncertain about resigning or you’d like to discuss your situation with us, we’re always happy to talk! Just contact us at community@givingwhatwecan.org.
