Hello Everyone!
Thank you for your interest in applying for the Cal Poly Engineering Student Council (ESC) Board!
ESC serves as a vital communication bridge between engineering students, the College of Engineering, and the broader University. Our mission is to foster dialogue, amplify student voices, and enhance the overall student experience within the College. We strive to promote unity and collaboration among the many engineering student organizations and clubs. Beyond traditional representation, ESC leads a variety of social and educational initiatives, including coffee and donuts gatherings, industry speaker nights, internship panels, trivia nights, and Engineers Week celebrations.
Through student-led efforts, we champion inclusivity and diversity, and advocate for equity, social, and environmental justice on campus. Additionally, we work closely with the Associate Deans to assist with space and resource allocation for engineering clubs and ensure student voices are heard. ESC also helps coordinate the Order of the Engineer ceremony for graduating engineering students.
Below are brief descriptions of the open officer positions for ESC:
Director of Marketing:
- Manage ESC’s social media presence
- Oversee creation and distribution of outreach materials
- Design flyers and promotional content for events and activities
Director of Events/ DEI Chair (2):- Create e-plans for events
- Collaborate closely with the Presidents to coordinate event logistics
- Manage event operations and lead activities on the day of
- Develop and implement DEI initiatives
Treasurer:- Manage budgeting for events and annual operations
- Oversee reimbursement processes
- Complete applications for supplemental funding
Secretary:- Record and distribute meeting minutes
- Support the Director of Events with outreach to vendors and organizations for event planning
