Capitol Complex Ground Penetration Process and Form

​According to Iowa Code Chapter 480, excavators / organizations will contact Iowa One Call for all excavation including but not limited to:

  • Digging
  • Trenching
  • Boring
  • Plowing
  • Backhoeing
  • Blasting
  • Tent Staking
  • Setting posts
  • Temporary signs, flags and banners.

Iowa One Call status of all requests on the Capitol Complex will be Standby Required / Not Marked by the Department of Administrative Services, under the operator title of STI (STATE OF IOWA). The locating and marking will remain Not Marked until the excavator and STI meet at the proposed area of excavation through a Joint Meeting. An excavator in the process of unapproved excavation will halt work until approved. 

Excavator will:

  1. Schedule a Joint Meeting - Iowa One Call
  2. Completed / Submitted Capitol Complex Ground Penetration Form
