Named for the first Black woman to graduate from Radcliffe College, the Alberta V. Scott Leadership Academy (AVS) gives participating Black high school women* the opportunity to cultivate leadership skills and individual creativity with the help of Black women* college mentors. Mentors and scholars participate in weekly discussions on a variety of topics ranging from college readiness and career aspirations to maintaining physical and emotional health. AVS meets Saturday mornings (excluding holidays and vacations) from 12:00 – 1:30 PM EST on Zoom. Prior to a session, mentors should notify the AVS directors at
abhwavs@gmail.com if they will be absent.
Our first meeting for the spring will be on Saturday, February 6th, 2021.
