Kindergym Victoria: Autism Spectrum Inclusion Strategy Questionnaire
Kindergym Victoria delivers music and movement programs for 0-5 year olds in the South East region of Melbourne.

Kindergym Victoria respects the neurodiversity of children! We’d like to create a safe and supportive environment for children 2-5 years old on the autism spectrum to enjoy our wonderful facilities and engage in a program specifically developed for them at our Seaford Kindergym facility.

In order to design a program that is highly inclusive and targets the learning and environmental needs of children on the autism spectrum, we’re seeking your feedback and advice.

To give you some background, our gym contains a wide array of gross motor equipment that supports climbing, rolling, spinning, hanging, jumping, balancing, and more. At the moment, our classes consist of child-led exploration, some direct instruction of skills on one or two apparatus (for children who choose to engage) and group mat time which book-ends the program. Group time involves music, hand held apparatus (rhythm sticks, scarves or toys) and some sensory play such as our parachutes. Here’s a short video slide show (1 min) about how the program typically runs:
